(a)
to protect the public from the health and safety risks inherent in the ownership and possession of exotic animals;
(b)
to protect native fauna, flora and natural ecosystems within the Province from population, habitat and disease threats posed by exotic animals; and
(c)
to regulate the ownership and possession of exotic animals, in consideration of their conservation status and complex life needs.
