Under section 30 of the Fire Prevention Act, the Lieutenant-Governor in Council makes the following Regulation:
1This Regulation may be cited as the Fire Extinguisher Salesman Licence Regulation - Fire Prevention Act.
2In this Regulation
“Act” means the Fire Prevention Act;
“municipal council” includes a rural community council.

3(1)Subject to subsection (2), the fire marshal may issue a fire extinguisher salesman licence to any person to sell fire extinguishers, which have been approved by the fire marshal pursuant to section 6, if
(a) the person makes an application in Form 50-1657, published by the Queen’s Printer, and pays the fee required under section 4, and
(b) the fire marshal is satisfied as to the truth of the matter in the application.
3(2)A fire extinguisher salesman licence shall not be issued to any person who is
(a) a local or special assistant to the fire marshal pursuant to section 6 of the Act, or
(b) a fire prevention officer appointed under a by-law made pursuant to section 109 of the Municipalities Act or under any other municipal by-law, unless he makes an application in Form 50-1657, published by the Queen’s Printer, which is accompanied by the written approval of the municipal council and pays the fee required under section 4.
4The fee for a fire extinguisher salesman licence is twenty dollars.

5(1)A fire extinguisher salesman licence shall expire on the thirty-first day of December of the year for which it was issued.
5(2)A fire extinguisher salesman licence may be renewed if an application in Form 50-1657, published by the Queen’s Printer, is made and the fee required under section 4 is paid.
6The fire marshal may approve any fire extinguisher which has been tested, listed and labelled by the inspection services of the Canadian Standards Association, the Underwriters’ Laboratories Incorporated, the Underwriters’ Laboratories of Canada or any other recognized laboratory or testing agency acceptable to the fire marshal.
7Regulation 61, Statutory Orders and Regulations, 1963, under the Fire Prevention Act is repealed.
