44(1)Except as otherwise prescribed, a registration under this Act is effective for the period of time specified as part of the financing statement by which the registration is effected.

44(2)A registration may be renewed by registering a financing change statement at any time before the registration expires and, except as otherwise prescribed, the period of time for which the registration is effective shall be extended by the renewal period specified as part of the financing change statement.

44(3)An amendment to a registration may be effected by registering a financing change statement at any time during the period that the registration is effective and the amendment is effective from the time that the financing change statement is registered to the expiry of the registration being amended.

44(4)Notwithstanding that an amendment of a registration is not specifically provided for in this Part, a financing change statement may be registered to amend the registration.
