“department” means a department, commission, office or other body that is represented on the Committee by a member.(ministère)
32(2)The duties of the Committee are
(a)
to share among its members information respecting the activities of the departments that relate to land and water use,
(b)
to make recommendations to the Minister concerning land and water use policies,
(c)
to develop methods to avoid and resolve conflicts and problems concerning land and water use,
(d)
to review the content and operation of this Act and the regulations and recommend to the Minister any amendments that, in the opinion of the Committee, would increase its effectiveness,
(e)
at the request of the Minister, to investigate, report on to the Minister and advise the Minister concerning any matter coming within this Act, and
(f)
to perform such other duties as are established by regulation.
32(3)The Committee may sit when and if it considers it necessary to receive submissions from any person concerning any matter coming within this Act.
32(4)The Minister may pay reasonable travelling and out-of-pocket expenses necessarily incurred by any person appearing before the Committee.
32(5)The Minister may from time to time engage the services of persons having special knowledge concerning any matter being studied, investigated or reported on by the Committee.
32(6)The Committee shall submit an annual report of its activities to the Minister, who shall lay the report before the Legislature.
