C-2.7 - Child, Youth and Senior Advocate Act

Definitions
1The following definitions apply in this Act.
“adult under protection” means a person who meets the following qualifications:(adulte sous protection)
(a) is at least 19 years of age but under the age of 65 years; and
(b) has a physical or mental disability.
“Advocate” means the Child, Youth and Senior Advocate appointed under section 3 and includes an acting Advocate appointed under subsection 8(5), 9(1) or 10(1).(défenseur)
“authority” means an authority set out in Schedule A. (autorité)
“child” means a person who is under the age of 16 years. (enfant)
“government” means the government of the Province of New Brunswick.(gouvernement)
“senior” means a person who is at least 65 years of age. (aîné)
“service” means a service provided by an authority to children, youths, adults in protection and seniors primarily for the purpose of benefiting children, youths, adults in protection and seniors. (service)
“youth” means a person who is 16 years of age or older, but under the age of 19 years. (jeune)
