2The following definitions apply in this Regulation: 
“Act” means the Energy Efficiency Act.(Loi)
“energy efficiency standard” means an energy efficiency standard as defined in the Energy Efficiency Act (Canada).(norme d’efficacité énergétique)
“energy-using product” means an energy-using product as defined in the Energy Efficiency Act (Canada).(matériel consommateur d’énergie)
“federal regulation” means the Energy Efficiency Regulations, 2016, made under the Energy Efficiency Act (Canada).(règlement fédéral)
“label” means a printed decal, stamped plate or other permanent marking.(étiquette)

“E” means the energy consumption in kilowatt hours per month;(E)
“Edaily means the daily energy consumption expressed in kilowatt hours per day;(Equot)
“EF” means energy factor as described in Appendix A and as computed in clause 5.5 of CSA standard CAN/CSA P.3 - 98 entitled Testing Method for Measuring Energy Consumption and Determining Efficiencies of Gas-fired Storage Water Heaters;(FE)
“electric range” does not include a portable cooking appliance designed for an electrical supply of 120 volts, a microwave cooking appliance or an appliance with one or more tungsten halogen heating elements;(cuisinière électrique)
“exit sign” means a device used to identify the most direct path of egress for emergency purposes having a legend and optional directional indicator that is illuminated by a light source contained within the assembly, and includes(enseigne de sortie)
(a) Type 1 and Type 3 exit signs as described in the CSA standard CAN/CSA C860-01, entitled Performance of Internally Lighted Exit Signs, and
(b) Type 2 exit signs as described in that standard, which includes exit signs supplies as a component of a combination emergency lighting unit and a battery pack with attached emergency lamps,
but does not include exit signs that flash, are photoluminescent or radioluminescent;
“freezer” means a household freezer that has a capacity not exceeding 850 l;(congélateur)
“label” means a printed decal, stamped plate or other permanent marking;(étiquette)
“legend” means each of the following words displayed on an exit sign, namely “EXIT” and “SORTIE”;(légende)
“refrigerator or combination refrigerator-freezer” means a household refrigerator or combination refrigerator-freezer that has a capacity of not more than 1 100 l but does not mean a refrigerator that employs an absorption refrigeration system;(réfrigérateur ou réfrigérateur-congélateur)
“room air conditioner” means a single-phase electric room air-conditioner that is not a packaged terminal air conditioner nor a portable air conditioner and that does not exceed 10.55 kW (36,000 BTU) in cooling capacity;(climatiseur individuel)
“V” means with respect to(V)
(a) electric ranges, the volume in litres of useable oven space,
(b) electric water heaters, oil-fired water heaters and gas water heaters, the rated volume in litres of the storage tank, and
(c) self-contained commercial refrigerators, self-contained commercial freezers and self-contained commercial refrigerator-freezers, the volume of the refrigerator compartment or freezer compartment, as the case may be, in litres as calculated in accordance with sections 4 and 5 of the AHAM standard ANSI/AHAM HRF-1-2004 entitled Energy Performance and Capacity of Household Refrigerators, Refrigerator-Freezers and Freezers.
