9No person shall hunt cormorant with a shotgun of any description originally capable of holding more than three shells unless the capacity of the gun has been reduced to not more than three shells at one time in the magazine and chamber combined, by means of the altering or plugging of the magazine with a one-piece metal, plastic or wood filler that cannot be removed unless the gun is disassembled.

9(1)The holder of a varmint licence or minor’s licence shall not take, carry or have in his possession in a resort of wildlife a shotgun together with shotgun cartridge containing ball, slug or lead shot larger than BB or steel shot larger than F.
9(2)Subject to subsection (4), no holder of any class of hunting licence issued under the Act shall take, carry or have in his possession in a resort of wildlife during the open season for hunting the species authorized to be hunted under such licence a centre-fire or rim-fire rifle of .23 calibre or larger unless
(a) he is the holder of a class I or class III licence and is, at the time and place where he is found in possession of such a rifle, entitled to hunt antlered deer, or
(b) he is the holder of a resident bear licence or non-resident bear licence and is, at the time and place where he is found in possession of such a rifle, entitled to hunt bear.
9(3)Subject to subsection (4), no holder of any class of hunting licence issued under the Act shall have in his possession in a resort of wildlife during the open season for hunting the species authorized to be hunted under such licence, a shotgun together with shotgun cartridge containing ball, slug or lead shot larger than BB or steel shot larger than F unless
(a) he is the holder of a class I or class III licence and is, at the time and place where he is found in possession of such shotgun together with shotgun cartridge, entitled to hunt antlered deer, or
(b) he is the holder of a resident bear licence or non-resident bear licence and is, at the time and place where he is found in possession of such shotgun together with shotgun cartridge, entitled to hunt bear.
9(4)After the holder of a class I licence or class III licence has killed one deer, he or she shall not hunt any of the species authorized to be hunted under the licence with a centre-fire or rim-fire rifle .23 calibre or larger or a shotgun together with shotgun cartridges containing ball, slug or lead shot larger than BB or steel shot larger than F, until he or she has been issued a new class I licence or class III licence, as the case may be, permitting him or her to hunt during a subsequent open season.
9(4.1)After the holder of a resident bear licence or non-resident bear licence has killed one bear, he or she shall not hunt any of the species authorized to be hunted under the licence with a centre-fire or rim-fire rifle .23 calibre or larger or a shotgun together with shotgun cartridges containing ball, slug or lead shot larger than BB or steel shot larger than F, until he or she has been issued a new resident bear licence or non-resident bear licence, as the case may be, permitting him or her to hunt during the open season prescribed in paragraph 11(1)(a.1) in the year in which the first licence was issued.

9(4)After the holder of a class I licence or class III licence has killed one deer or the holder of a resident bear licence or non-resident bear licence has killed one bear, he or she shall not hunt any of the species authorized to be hunted under such licence with a centre-fire or rim-fire rifle .23 calibre or larger or a shotgun together with shotgun cartridges containing ball, slug or lead shot larger than BB or steel shot larger than F, until he or she has been issued a new class I licence or class III licence or a new resident bear licence or non-resident bear licence, as the case may be, permitting him or her to hunt during a subsequent open season.
9(5)No person shall have possession in a resort of wildlife of
(a) subject to subsection (6), a bow with a draw weight of less than twenty kilograms at or before seventy centimetres draw, or
(b) an arrow that is coated in part or in whole with a poisonous substance or is designed to explode, the point of which is barbed or equipped with a ripper or the head of which has a blade that is barbed or is less than twenty millimetres at the widest point.
9(6)A person may hunt wildlife, except moose, deer or bear, with a bow with a draw weight of ten kilograms or more but less than twenty kilograms at seventy centimetres draw, if hunting in accordance with the Act and the regulations under a valid licence or permit issued under the Act.
9(7)No person shall hunt cormorant with a shotgun of any description originally capable of holding more than three shells unless the capacity of the gun has been reduced to not more than three shells at one time in the magazine and chamber combined, by means of the altering or plugging of the magazine with a one-piece metal, plastic or wood filler that cannot be removed unless the gun is disassembled.
