16(1)Every person who kills a deer shall register the deer in the person’s name
(a) through the Department’s website in accordance with section 17.01, or
(b) at the first open deer registration station on the route taken by the person.
16(1.1)A deer shall be registered no later than 24 hours
(a) in the case of an antlered deer killed in wildlife management zone 1, 2 or 3, after the end of the five-week period prescribed in subsection 11.1(3),
(b) in the case of a deer killed under a muzzle-loading firearm authorization, after the period set out in subsection 3.11(1), and
(c) in the case of any other deer killed during the seven-week period beginning on the first Monday in October, after the end of that period.
16(2)No person shall transport a deer that is not registered unless the person has killed the deer or is accompanied by the person who killed the deer.
16(3)No person shall sever the head or limbs of a deer from the body of the deer before the deer is registered.

16(1)Every person who kills a deer shall present it for registration in his name at the first open deer registration station on the route taken by the person.
16(2)Every person who kills a deer shall, at the same time the person presents the deer for registration,
(a) present the licence under which the person killed the deer to the deer registration agent, and
(b) when requested to do so by the registration agent, remove the tag affixed under subsection 14(2) to the deer and attach a registration tag provided by the registration agent to the right foreleg of the deer.
16(3)Every person who kills an antlerless deer shall present the person’s class III licence, bearing an antlerless deer authorization, under which the person killed the deer to the deer registration agent at the same time as the person presents the deer for registration.
