13(1)The Minister may issue a raccoon hunting permit to a person who is
(a) a member of an association that is issued a permit under section 11, and
(b) a holder of a fur harvester’s licence or a minor’s fur harvester’s licence,
which entitles that person to hunt raccoon at night with a hound or hounds in accordance with subsection 33(2) of the Act during the open season for hunting raccoon at night with a hound or hounds and with a light or lights in the wildlife management zone in which raccoon is hunted.
13(2)The permit issued under subsection (1) only authorizes the holder of a permit to hunt raccoon at night with a hound or hounds and with a light or lights if the Minister has approved each hound used by the holder of the permit as one that gives tongue while trailing a raccoon.
13(2.1)Repealed: 2021-55
13(3)The holder of a raccoon hunting permit shall
(a) submit a report to the Director of Fish and Wildlife, no later than January 31 of each year, stating the approximate number of hours spent hunting, the number of raccoons treed, the number of raccoons destroyed and the general areas hunted;
(b) obtain permission for the hunt from the Ranger Office serving the area in which the hunt is to be conducted at least twenty-four hours prior to the commencement of a raccoon hunt at night; and
(c) before hunting raccoons at night on occupied or cultivated land, obtain permission from the owner or occupier of the land to hunt on the land.
13(4)The open season for hunting raccoon at night with a hound or hounds and with a light or lights in a wildlife management zone is that specified in Schedule B.

13(2.1)Notwithstanding subsection (1), no holder of a raccoon hunting permit shall have possession of a rifle .23 calibre or larger or a shotgun together with cartridges containing lead shot larger than number two or steel shot larger than BB during the open season established under subsection (4) for hunting raccoon in the wildlife management zone in which raccoon is hunted.
