Regional economic development – Schedule A entities subject to trade agreements

160After consultation with Treasury Board, the Minister may, on behalf of a Schedule A entity that is subject to a trade agreement, enter into a procurement contract with a prospective supplier by mutual agreement in order to promote regional economic development if the procurement complies with the applicable trade agreements.

160In exceptional circumstances and after consultation with Treasury Board, the Minister may enter into a procurement contract with a prospective supplier by mutual agreement for the purposes of regional economic development if
(a) the Minister determines that a region of the Province may gain a significant economic benefit from doing so, and
(b) the procurement will comply with applicable trade agreements.
