Definitions
1In this Act
“Commission” means the Roosevelt Campobello International Park Commission;(Commission)
“Park” means the Roosevelt Campobello International Park established jointly between the Government of the United States of America and the Government of Canada.(parc)

Power of Cabinet to appoint Commission member
2The Lieutenant-Governor in Council shall nominate one of the Canadian members of the Commission to be appointed by the Government of Canada.

Commission property free
3All property belonging to the Commission shall be exempt from attachment, execution, or other processes for satisfaction of claims, debts or judgments.

Exemption of Commission property from tax
4(1)The Commission is not subject to any Provincial or local taxation
(a) on any real or personal property held by it,
(b) on any gift, bequest or devise to it of any personal or real property, or
(c) on its income whether from governmental appropriations, concessions, admission fees or donations.
4(2)The Lieutenant-Governor in Council may grant the Commission exemption from other taxes, the imposition of which would be inconsistent with the functioning of the Commission.

Power to enter agreements
5The Lieutenant-Governor in Council may authorize the Minister of Natural Resources and Energy Development on behalf of the Government of New Brunswick to enter into and amend from time to time arrangements with the Government of Canada, the Commission and competent agencies of the United States and Canada for rendering such services as the Commission may request for the orderly development, maintenance and operation of the Park.

Regulations, offences and penalties, continuing offence
6(1)The Lieutenant-Governor in Council may make regulations prohibiting, regulating, controlling, and licensing trades, businesses, amusements, sports, occupations, and other activities or undertakings in an area four hundred feet in width surrounding the Park.
6(2)A person who violates any provision of the regulations commits an offence punishable under Part II of the Provincial Offences Procedure Act as a category B offence.
6(3)Where an offence under subsection (2) continues for more than one day,
(a) the minimum fine that may be imposed is the minimum fine set by the Provincial Offences Procedure Act multiplied by the number of days during which the offence continues, and
(b) the maximum fine that may be imposed is the maximum fine set by the Provincial Offences Procedure Act multiplied by the number of days during which the offence continues.

Application of Act
7The following Acts do not apply in respect of the Commission or the Park, namely:
(a) Companies Act;
(b) Heritage Conservation Act.
