Protection of Persons Acting
Under Statute Act

Protection of officers acting under law
1An officer of the law, acting under the authority and according to the requirements and direction of an Act of the Legislature or of the Parliament of Canada, shall not be subject to an attachment, action, suit, fine or imprisonment for or by reason of any act or thing by him done under and by virtue of such Act.

Defence of officer
2In an action, suit or proceeding for, by reason of, or in consequence of any matter or thing done under and according to the provisions of any such Act, it is a good defence that the same was done under and according to the provisions of said Act; and the subject matter of such defence may be given in evidence under the general issue, or other defence to such action, suit or proceeding.

Protection of judge
3Any judge of the Provincial Court or officer appointed to preside over any inferior court, shall be deemed, for the purpose of this Act, to act within his jurisdiction who acts within a jurisdiction given or intended to be given by an Act of this Legislature, or of the Parliament of Canada, whether within or beyond the power of such Legislature or Parliament, as the case may be.
