1Section 3 of New Brunswick Regulation 84-230 under the Civil Service Act is amended by adding after paragraph (e) the following: 
(e.1) where temporary or casual appointments are made under the Act or the regulations, subsections 17(3), 17(5) and 17(6) of the Act do not apply to the persons so appointed or to the positions to which the persons are appointed,
