Employment Standards Act

1New Brunswick Regulation 85-179 under the Employment Standards Act is amended by adding after section 2 the following:
2.1Athletes when participating in activities related to their sport and persons employing them in the context of those activities are exempted from sections 9 to 17 inclusive of the Act.
2Section 3 of the Regulation is amended
(a) in subsection (1)
(i) in paragraph (n) by striking out “and” at the end of the paragraph;
(ii) in paragraph (o) by striking out the period at the end of the paragraph and substituting “; and”;
(iii) by adding after paragraph (o) the following:
(p) athletes when participating in activities related to their sport.
(b) in subsection (2)
(i) in paragraph (a.2) of the English version by striking out “and” at the end of the paragraph;
(ii) in paragraph (b) by striking out the period at the end of the paragraph and substituting “; and”;
(iii) by adding after paragraph (b) the following:
(c) athletes when participating in activities related to their sport.
3The Regulation is amended by adding after section 3 the following:
3.1Athletes when participating in activities related to their sport and persons employing them in the context of those activities are exempted from sections 28 to 34 inclusive of the Act.
