Payment of initial allowance
93(1)Notwithstanding section 31, an initial allowance shall be payable to each registered political party represented in the Legislative Assembly on the date of coming into force of this section and to each registered political party which, although not represented in the Legislative Assembly, had at least ten official candidates at the immediately preceding general election.
93(2)The initial allowance of each political party entitled thereto shall be that proportion of the amount otherwise payable under subsection 32(1) that the number of days remaining in the year 1978 on the date of the coming into force of this section is of three hundred and sixty-five.
93(3)The amount of the initial allowance payable to each registered political party entitled thereto shall be published by the Supervisor in The Royal Gazette within sixty days from the coming into force of this section.
93(4)The initial allowance computed in subsection (2) shall be payable in two equal instalments on the date sixty days from the coming into force of this section and on the thirty-first day of December, 1978.
93(5)Where not otherwise inconsistent herewith, sections 31 to 36 apply to the initial allowance payable under this section.
