9(1)If an employer adopts the plan for its employees, the employer shall not terminate its participation in the plan nor shall it withdraw from the plan.

9(2)Despite subsection (1), if a participating body amalgamates with or is annexed to another municipality or rural community, the Minister may order the employer and its employees to terminate their participation in the plan.

9(3)Despite subsection (1), if a participating body is dissolved in accordance with subsection 14(4.1) or 190.071(3) of the Act, the Board shall distribute the funds in accordance with the provisions of the special Act of the Legislature that dissolves the participating body and with the provisions of any other applicable legislation.
