Under section 38 of the Highway Act, the Lieutenant-Governor in Council, on the recommendation of the Minister, makes the following Regulation:

1This Regulation may be cited as the Controlled Access Highways in Northumberland County Regulation - Highway Act.
2The highways or portions of highways in Northumberland County in Schedule A are designated as controlled access highways under the categories specified in the Schedule.
3This Regulation comes into force on August 15, 1994.
SCHEDULE A
NORTHUMBERLAND COUNTY
PART 1 - Route 8
Division A
Route 8 - Smiths Crossing to Route 425
1All that portion of Route 8 from the point that is 3.3 kilometres south of the Renous River Bridge to Route 425 located in Blackville Parish, Derby Parish, Northesk Parish and Miramichi, Northumberland County, designated as a level II controlled access highway and being more particularly bounded and described as follows:
Beginning at the point on the centre line of the travelled portion of Route 8 that is 3.3 kilometres south of the centre of the Renous River Bridge; thence in a northerly direction along the centre line of Route 8 for a distance of approximately 29.432 kilometres to the intersection of the centre lines of the travelled portions of Route 425 and Route 8, including all existing and future interchange or at grade intersection ramps and on and off lanes including tapers on all connecting highways.
McNeil Street
2All that portion of McNeil Street located in Blackville Parish, Northumberland County, designated as a level III controlled access highway and being more particularly bounded and described as follows:
Beginning at the intersection of the centre lines of the travelled portions of McNeil Street and Route 8; thence in an easterly direction along the centre line of McNeil Street for a distance of 200 metres.
South Renous Road
3All that portion of South Renous Road located in Blackville Parish, Northumberland County, designated as a level III controlled access highway and being more particularly bounded and described as follows:
Beginning at the intersection of the centre lines of the travelled portions of South Renous Road and Route 8; thence in a westerly direction along the centre line of South Renous Road for a distance of 200 metres.
Young Street
4All that portion of Young Street located in Blackville Parish, Northumberland County, designated as a level III controlled access highway and being more particularly bounded and described as follows:
Beginning at the intersection of the centre lines of the travelled portions of Young Street and Route 8; thence in an easterly direction along the centre line of Young Street for a distance of 200 metres.
Route 108 at Renous
5All those portions of Route 108 located in Blackville Parish, Northumberland County, designated as a level III controlled access highway on the north side of Route 108 and designated as a level IV controlled access highway on the south side of Route 108, and being more particularly bounded and described as follows:
Beginning at the intersection of the centre line of the travelled portion of Route 108 and the centre of the grade separation for Route 8; thence in a westerly direction along the centre line of Route 108 for a distance of 292 metres, and
Beginning at the intersection of the centre line of the travelled portion of Route 108 and the centre of the grade separation for Route 8; thence in an easterly direction along the centre line of Route 108 for a distance of 400 metres.
Route 415
6All those portions of Route 415 located in Derby Parish, Northumberland County, designated as a level III controlled access highway and being more particularly bounded and described as follows:
Beginning at the intersection of the centre lines of the travelled portions of Route 415 and Route 8; thence in a northerly direction along the centre line of Route 415 for a distance of 200 metres, and
Beginning at the intersection of the centre lines of the travelled portions of Route 415 and Route 8; thence in a southerly direction along the centre line of Route 415 for a distance of 200 metres.
Parker Road
7All those portions of Parker Road located in Derby Parish, Northumberland County, designated as a level III controlled access highway and being more particularly bounded and described as follows:
Beginning at the intersection of the centre lines of the travelled portions of Parker Road and Route 8; thence in a northerly direction along the centre line of Parker Road for a distance of 200 metres, and
Beginning at the intersection of the centre lines of the travelled portions of Parker Road and Route 8; thence in a southerly direction along the centre line of Parker Road for a distance of 200 metres.
Williamstown Road
8All those portions of Williamstown Road located in Derby Parish, Northumberland County, designated as a level III controlled access highway and being more particularly bounded and described as follows:
Beginning at the intersection of the centre lines of the travelled portions of Williamstown Road and Route 8; thence in a northerly direction along the centre line of Williamstown Road for a distance of 200 metres, and
Beginning at the intersection of the centre lines of the travelled portions of Williamstown Road and Route 8; thence in a southerly direction along the centre line of Williamstown Road for a distance of 200 metres.
Route 420
9All that portion of Route 420 located in Southesk Parish, Northumberland County, designated as a level III controlled access highway on the south side of Route 420 and designated as a level IV controlled access highway on the north side of Route 420, and being more particularly bounded and described as follows:
Beginning at the intersection of the centre line of the travelled portion of Route 420 and the centre of the grade separation for Route 8; thence in a westerly direction along the centre line of Route 420 for a distance of 325 metres.
Route 108 near Miramichi
10All that portion of Route 108 located in Southesk Parish, Northumberland County, designated as a level III controlled access highway and being more particularly bounded and described as follows:
Beginning at the intersection of the centre line of the travelled portion of Route 108 and the centre of the grade separation for Route 8; thence in an easterly direction along the centre line of Route 108 for a distance of 135 metres.
Route 425
11All that portion of Route 425 located in Miramichi, Northumberland County, designated as a level III controlled access highway on the north side of Route 425 and designated as a level IV controlled access highway on the south side of Route 425, and being more particularly bounded and described as follows:
Beginning at the intersection of the centre lines of the travelled portions of Route 425 and Route 8; thence in a westerly direction along the centre line of Route 425 for a distance of 263 metres.
Curtis Drive
12All that portion of Curtis Drive located in Miramichi, Northumberland County, designated as a level III controlled access highway and being more particularly bounded and described as follows:
Beginning at the intersection of the centre lines of the travelled portions of Curtis Drive and Route 8; thence in an easterly direction along the centre line of Curtis Drive for a distance of 185 metres.

Route 8 - Route 425 to Route 430
13All that portion of Route 8 located in Miramichi, Northumberland County, designated as a level I controlled access highway and being more particularly bounded and described as follows:
Beginning at the intersection of the centre lines of the travelled portions of Route 425 and Route 8; thence in a northeasterly direction along the centre line of Route 8 for a distance of 3.692 kilometres to the intersection of the centre lines of the travelled portions of Route 8 and Route 430, including all existing and future interchange or at grade intersection ramps and on and off lanes including tapers on all connecting highways.

Route 8 (Route 430) - Route 430 to King George Highway
14All that portion of Route 8 from Route 430 to the King George Highway located in Miramichi, Northumberland County, designated as a level III controlled access highway and being more particularly bounded and described as follows:
Beginning at the intersection of the centre lines of the travelled portions of Route 8 and Route 430; thence in a southerly direction along the centre line of Route 8 for a distance of approximately 2.108 kilometres to the centre of the grade separation for Route 8 and the King George Highway, including all existing and future interchange or at grade intersection ramps and on and off lanes including tapers on all connecting highways.

Beginning at the intersection of the centre line of the travelled portion of Route 8 and the centre of the grade separation for the King George Highway; thence in an easterly direction along the centre line of Route 8 for a distance of approximately 2.200 kilometres to the intersection of the centre lines of the travelled portions of Route 8 and Route 126, including all existing and future interchange or at grade intersection ramps and on and off lanes including tapers on all connecting highways.
Willow Street Extension
16All that portion of Willow Street Extension located in Newcastle Parish, Northumberland County, designated as a level I controlled access highway and being more particularly bounded and described as follows:
Beginning at the point on the centre line of the travelled portion of Willow Street Extension that is 300 metres south of the intersection of the centre lines of the travelled portions of Willow Street Extension and Hennessy Street; thence in a southerly direction along Willow Street Extension to Route 8.
Water Street

Beginning at the intersection of the centre lines of the travelled portions of Route 8 and Water Street, thence in a northwesterly direction along the centre line of Water Street for a distance of approximately 256 metres to the intersection of the centre lines of the travelled portions of Water Street and Sully Street.

Beginning at the intersection of the centre line of the travelled portion of Big Ferry Road and the centre of the grade separation for Route 8; thence in an easterly direction along the centre line of Big Ferry Road for a distance of 182 metres.
McHardy Road
25All those portions of McHardy Road located in Miramichi, Northumberland County, designated as a level III controlled access highway and being more particularly bounded and described as follows:
Beginning at the intersection of the centre lines of the travelled portions of McHardy Road and Route 8; thence in a northerly direction along the centre line of McHardy Road for a distance of 200 metres, and
Beginning at the intersection of the centre lines of the travelled portions of McHardy Road and Route 8; thence in a southerly direction along the centre line of McHardy Road for a distance of 200 metres.
