Under section 19 of the
Inshore Fisheries Representation Act
, the Lieutenant-Governor in Council makes the following Regulation:

This Regulation may be cited as the
Characteristics of Inshore Boats Regulation

An inshore boat shall have the following characteristics:
(
a
)
in Region 1 and Region 2 it
(i
)
has a length of less than 15.2 metres (50 feet),
(ii
)
is used mainly for fishing lobster or herring,
(iii
)
is not used more than occasionally for fishing smelt, rock crab, tuna, mackerel, capelin, Irish moss, scallops, sea urchin, dogfish or groundfish, and
(iv
)
is not a crab boat, shrimp boat or super-44 groundfish boat;
(
b
)
in Region 3, it has a length of not more than 15.2 metres (50 feet); and
(
c
)
in Region 4 it
(i
)
has a length of not more than 15.2 metres (50 feet), and
(ii
)
is used mainly for fishing lobster.
