Under subsection 191(1) of the Local Governance Act, the Lieutenant-Governor in Council makes the following Regulation:
Citation
1This Regulation may be cited as the Local Government Budgets Regulation – Local Governance Act.
Definition of “Act”
2In this Regulation, “Act” means the Local Governance Act.
Estimates and revised estimates
3(1)A local government shall adopt by resolution and submit to the Minister for approval, in the form provided by the Minister entitled “Local Government Budgets”, the information referred to in subsection 99(2) of the Act on or before the later of
(a) the 15th day of November in each year, and
(b) the expiry of 30 days from the date in each year the local government receives the tax base and equalization grant information under the Community Funding Act.
3(2)If an estimate under paragraph 99(2)(a) of the Act is not approved by the Minister, a local government shall adopt the revisions referred to in subsection 99(6) of the Act and submit them to the Minister for approval on or before the second Friday of the month of December in the year prior to the year for which the estimate is being prepared.

Repeal of the Municipal Budgets Regulation – Municipalities Act
4New Brunswick Regulation 82-84 under the Municipalities Act is repealed.
N.B. This Regulation is consolidated to January 1, 2023.
