Under section 190.072 of the Municipalities Act, on the recommendation of the Minister, the Lieutenant-Governor in Council makes the following Regulation:

Citation
1This Regulation may be cited as the Rural Community of Cocagne Regulation - Municipalities Act.
Definition of “Act”
2In this Regulation, “Act” means the Municipalities Act.
Annexation of an area to Cocagne

3(1)The rural community of Cocagne is continued as a rural community and the name of the rural community is Cocagne.
3(2)A portion of the local service district of the parish of Dundas, being an area contiguous to Cocagne, is annexed to Cocagne.
3(3)The effective date of the annexation is June 1, 2018.

Territorial limits of Cocagne
4 The territorial limits of Cocagne, including the area referred to in subsection 3(2), are shown on the plan attached as Schedule A.

Body corporate
5The inhabitants of the area shown on the plan attached as Schedule A, including the inhabitants of the area referred to in subsection 3(2), are a body corporate called Cocagne.

Council composition
8The rural community council of Cocagne shall be composed of the following five members:
(a) the rural community mayor elected at large; and
(b) two rural community councillors elected from each ward referred to in section 9.
Wards
9The territorial limits of Cocagne are divided into Ward 1 and Ward 2, both of which are shown on the plan attached as Schedule A.
Services provided by Minister
10The services of fire protection, street lighting and recreational facilities are prescribed as services to be provided by the Minister throughout the entire rural community.
Services provided by Cocagne
11The service of land use planning is prescribed as a service that shall be provided by Cocagne throughout the entire rural community.
Community funding and equalization grant
12Despite any provision of the Act or the Community Funding Act, after June 1, 2018, the Minister shall pay or credit, as the case may be, to the rural community of Cocagne amounts under the Community Funding Act that are owed to or owed to the credit of the area referred to in subsection 3(2).

Commencement
13This Regulation comes into force on March 28, 2014.
