Under section 57 of the Education Act, the Lieutenant-Governor in Council, on the recommendation of the Minister, makes the following Regulation:

Citation

1This Regulation may be cited as the School Districts and Subdistricts Regulation - Education Act.

School districts

2The Province is divided into school districts as set out in Schedule A.

Subdistricts

3School districts are divided into subdistricts as set out in Schedule A.

Community names

4The community names listed in Schedule A are

(a) in the case of a local government incorporated or continued in a regulation under the Municipalities Act, chapter M-22 of the Revised Statutes, 1973, the name identified in that regulation,

(a.1) in the case of a local government incorporated or continued in a regulation under the Local Governance Act, the name identified in that regulation, and

(b) Repealed: 2021, c.44, s.37

(c) in all other cases, the community names identified in the assignment of civic addresses under the Emergency 911 Act and the regulations under that Act.

Transitional provision

2012-11

5 Despite any other provision of this Regulation, for the purposes of the term of office of a councillor of a District Education Council referred to in subsection 36.2(1) of the Education Act that ends on June 30, 2012 or the term of office of a person appointed to a District Education Council under subsection 36.2(3) or (3.1) of the Education Act that ends on June 30, 2012, the boundaries of a district or subdistrict as they existed before the commencement of this section apply until the end of those terms of office.
