An Act to Amend the
Motor Vehicle Act
Assented to June 12, 2026
His Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of New Brunswick, enacts as follows:
1The Motor Vehicle Act, chapter M-17 of the Revised Statutes, 1973, is amended by adding after section 310.06 the following:
Commissioners for taking affidavits
310.061For the purposes of sections 310.04 and 310.06, a peace officer under subsection 15(1), a police officer appointed under section 10, 11 or 17.3 of the Police Act and a member of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police are, by virtue of their offices, commissioners for taking affidavits to be read in The Court of King’s Bench of New Brunswick under the Commissioners for Taking Affidavits Act.
