An Act to Amend the
Statistics Act
Assented to December 12, 2025
His Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of New Brunswick, enacts as follows:
1Section 1 of the French version of the Statistics Act, chapter 115 of the Revised Statutes, 2012, is amended in the definition « directeur » by striking out “nommé en vertu de” and substituting “désigné en application de”.
2Subsection 4(1) of the Act is amended by striking out “The Lieutenant-Governor in Council shall designate a person employed under the Minister” and substituting “The Minister shall designate a person employed under the Minister”.
TRANSITIONAL PROVISION
Transitional provision
3(1)In this section, “Minister” means Minister as defined in the Statistics Act, chapter 115 of the Revised Statutes, 2012.
3(2)The Director of the New Brunswick Statistics Agency who was designated by the Lieutenant-Governor in Council as such under subsection 4(1) of the Statistics Act, chapter 115 of the Revised Statutes, 2012, as it read immediately before the commencement of this section and who held office immediately before the commencement of this section shall be deemed to have been designated by the Minister under subsection 4(1) of that Act, as amended by section 1 of this Act.
