An Act to Amend the
Financial and Consumer Services
Commission Act
Assented to June 10, 2022
Her Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of New Brunswick, enacts as follows:
1Section 6 of the English version of the Financial and Consumer Services Commission Act, chapter 30 of the Acts of New Brunswick, 2013, is amended
(a) in subsection (3) by striking out “he or she” and “his or her” and substituting “the person” and “their”, respectively;
(b) in subsection (4) by striking out “his or her” and “he or she” and substituting “their” and “the member”, respectively;
(c) in subsection (5) by striking out “he or she” and substituting “the member”.
2Subsection 7(1) of the English version of the Act is amended by striking out “he or she” wherever it appears and substituting “the person”.
3Subsection 8(2) of the English version of the Act is amended by striking out “him or her” and “his or her” and substituting “the member” and “their”, respectively.
4Subsection 10(3) of the English version of the Act is amended by striking out “his or her powers and duties” and substituting “the powers and duties of the chair”.
5Subsection 17(7) of the English version of the Act is amended by striking out “him or her” and “his or her” and substituting “the member” and “their”, respectively.
6Subsection 18(3) of the English version of the Act is amended by striking out “him or her” wherever it appears and substituting “the person”.
7Paragraph 20(1)(c) of the English version of the Act is amended by striking out “his or her” and substituting “their”.
8Subsection 21(8) of the English version of the Act is amended by striking out “he or she” and substituting “the Minister”.
9Section 23 of the Act is amended
(a) in subsection (1) by striking out “December 31” and substituting “February 28”;
(b) in subsection (2) of the English version by striking out “he or she” and substituting “the Secretary”.
10Subsection 31(3) of the English version of the Act is amended by striking out “he or she” and “his or her” and substituting “the member” and “their”, respectively.
11Subsection 33(2) of the English version of the Act is amended by striking out “him or her” and “his or her” and substituting “the member” and “their”, respectively.
12Subsection 34(1) of the English version of the Act is amended by striking out “he or she” and substituting “the member”.
13Section 40 of the English version of the Act is amended
(a) in subsection (2) by striking out “him or her” wherever it appears and substituting “the Registrar”;
(b) in subsection (3)
(i) in the portion preceding paragraph (a) by striking out “him or her” wherever it appears and substituting “the Registrar”;
(ii) in paragraph (c) by striking out “his or her” and substituting “their”.
14Subsection 51(1) of the English version of the Act is amended
(a) in the portion preceding paragraph (a) by striking out “his or her”, “him or her” and “he or she” wherever it appears and substituting “their”, “the person” and “the person”, respectively;
(b) in paragraph (b) by striking out “his or her” and substituting “their”.
15Subsection 79(1) of the English version of the Act is amended by striking out “his or her” and “he or she” and substituting “their” and “the person”, respectively.
16Section 82 of the English version of the Act is amended by striking out “he or she” and substituting “the person”.
