An Act to Amend the
Clean Environment Act
Assented to December 16, 2016
Her Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of New Brunswick, enacts as follows:
1The Clean Environment Act, chapter C-6 of the Revised Statutes, 1973, is amended by adding the following after section 5.3:
Wastewater produced by hydraulic fracturing
5.4No person shall discharge or cause or permit the discharge of wastewater produced by hydraulic fracturing into a wastewater works that is owned or operated by the Province or by a municipality, regional municipality, rural community or wastewater commission established under this Act.
