REGULATION 2024-79

Financial Administration Act

1Section 2 of New Brunswick Regulation 86-32 under the Financial Administration Act is amended
(a) in the definition “veterinarian” by striking out the period at the end of the definition and substituting a semicolon;
(b) by adding the following definitions in alphabetical order:
“veterinary technician” means a veterinary technician who is registered with the New Brunswick Veterinary Medical Association and employed by the Province;(technicien vétérinaire)
“veterinary services” means services provided by a veterinarian or a veterinary technician.(services vétérinaires)
2Section 3 of the Regulation is amended
(a) in subsection (1)
(i) in the portion preceding paragraph (a) of the English version by striking out “a veterinarian’s services” and substituting “veterinary services”;
(ii) in paragraph (a) in the portion preceding subparagraph (i) by striking out “visit” and substituting “visit by the veterinarian, the veterinary technician, or both”;
(iii) in paragraph b) of the French version by striking out “pour chaque quart d’heure ou fraction de quart d’heure que consacre” and substituting “par quart d’heure ou fraction de quart d’heure que passe”;
(iv) by adding after paragraph (b) the following:
(b.1) for each 15-minute period or portion of a 15-minute period spent by the veterinary technician on the premises,  $16.06;
(b) in subsection (2)
(i) in the portion preceding paragraph (a) of the English version by striking out “a veterinarian’s services” and substituting “veterinary services”;
(ii) in paragraph (a) in the portion preceding subparagraph (i) by striking out “visit” and substituting “visit by the veterinarian, the veterinary technician, or both”;
(iii) in paragraph b) of the French version by striking out “pour chaque quart d’heure ou fraction de quart d’heure que consacre” and substituting “par quart d’heure ou fraction de quart d’heure que passe”;
(iv) by adding after paragraph (b) the following:
(b.1) for each 15-minute period or portion of a 15-minute period spent by the veterinary technician on the premises,  $28.16;
(c) in subsection (3) of the English version in the portion preceding paragraph (a) by striking out “a veterinarian’s services” and “the veterinarian’s services” and substituting “veterinary services” and “the veterinary services”, respectively.
3Subsection 6(1.1) of the Regulation is amended
(a) in the portion preceding paragraph (a) by striking out “the Department’s Veterinary Clinic, located at the Veterinary Centre in Fredericton, New Brunswick,” and substituting “a Department veterinary clinic in the Province”;
(b) by adding after paragraph (a) the following:
(a.1) for each 15-minute period or portion of a 15-minute period spent by a veterinary technician for examining or treating an animal, $28.50;
4This Regulation comes into force on April 1, 2025.
