1Section 2 of New Brunswick Regulation 84-165 under the Electrical Installation and Inspection Act is amended
(a) in the definition “Code”
(i) in the portion preceding paragraph (a) by striking out “C22.1-15, Canadian Electrical Code, Part I (Twenty-third Edition),” and substituting “C22.1-18, Canadian Electrical Code, Part I, (Twenty-fourth Edition),”;
(ii) in paragraph (b) by striking out “Rule 6-206(1)(e)” and substituting “Rule 6-206(1)(c)”;
(iii) by repealing paragraph (b.1);
(iv) by repealing paragraph (b.2) and substituting the following:
(b.2) Rule 26.712(e) is replaced by the following:
26-724(e) The receptacles specified in
(i)Item (d) shall not be located on the area of a counter directly in front of a kitchen sink or on the area of a wall, a permanently fixed island or a peninsular counter directly behind a kitchen sink, and
(ii)Items (d)(iv) and (v) may be located on the side of a permanently fixed island or a peninsular counter if the receptacle is no more than 300 mm below the counter and the counter extends no more than 150 mm beyond its support base or on or above the counter of the permanently fixed island or peninsular counter.
(b) by repealing the definition “professional electrical engineer”;
(c) by adding the following definition in alphabetical order:
“professional engineer” means an electrical engineer who is registered as a member under the Engineering and Geoscience Professions Act;(ingénieur)
2Subsection 17(2) of the Regulation is amended in the portion preceding paragraph (a) by striking out “a professional electrical engineer” and substituting “a professional engineer”.
3This Regulation comes into force on November 4, 2019.
