NEW BRUNSWICK
REGULATION 2017-19
under the
Employment Standards Act
(O.C. 2017-179)

New Brunswick Regulation 85-179 under the Employment Standards Act is amended by adding after section 2 the following:
2.1
Athletes when participating in activities related to their sport and persons employing them in the context of those activities are exempted from sections 9 to 17 inclusive of the Act.

Section 3 of the Regulation is amended
(
a
)
in subsection (1)
(i
)
in paragraph (n) by striking out “and” at the end of the paragraph;
(ii
)
in paragraph (o) by striking out the period at the end of the paragraph and substituting
“; and”
;
(iii
)
by adding after paragraph (o) the following:
(
p
)
athletes when participating in activities related to their sport.
(
b
)
in subsection (2)
(i
)
in paragraph (a.2) of the English version by striking out “and” at the end of the paragraph;
(ii
)
in paragraph (b) by striking out the period at the end of the paragraph and substituting
“; and”
;
(iii
)
by adding after paragraph (b) the following:
(
c
)
athletes when participating in activities related to their sport.

The Regulation is amended by adding after section 3 the following:
3.1
Athletes when participating in activities related to their sport and persons employing them in the context of those activities are exempted from sections 28 to 34 inclusive of the Act.
