1Section 2 of New Brunswick Regulation 84-133 under the Fish and Wildlife Act is amended
(a) by repealing the definition “arrow fitted with a broad head”;
(b) by repealing the definition “bow”.
2Section 3 of the Regulation is amended
(a) in subparagraph (3)(a)(ii) by striking out “by bow only” and substituting “by bow or crossbow”;
(b) in subparagraph (4)(a)(ii) by striking out “by bow only” and substituting “by bow or crossbow”.
3Section 3.02 of the Regulation is amended
(a) in subparagraph (1)(a)(ii) by striking out “by bow only” and substituting “by bow or crossbow”;
(b) in subsection (3) in the portion preceding paragraph (a) by striking out “, with a shotgun together with shotgun cartridges containing ball, slug or lead shot larger than BB or steel shot larger than F, or by means of a bow having a draw weight of not less than twenty kilograms at or before seventy centimetres draw and an arrow fitted with a broad head,” and substituting “or with a shotgun together with shotgun cartridges containing ball, slug or lead shot larger than BB or steel shot larger than F,”.
4Section 6 of the Regulation is amended
(a) in subsection (1)
(i) in paragraph (b) by striking out “bow and arrow” and substituting “bow or a crossbow”;
(ii) in paragraph (c) by striking out “bow and arrow” and substituting “bow or a crossbow”;
(b) in subsection (2.2)
(i) by repealing the portion preceding paragraph (a) and substituting the following:
6(2.2)The holder of a non-resident bear licence shall not carry or transport a firearm during the periods authorized under subsection (1) in a wildlife management zone other than the wildlife management zone indicated on the bear validation sticker affixed to the licence unless the firearm
(ii) in paragraph (b) by striking out “or bow”;
(c) in subsection (2.3) by striking out “a bow having a draw weight of not less than twenty kilograms at or before seventy centimetres draw and an arrow fitted with a broad head” and substituting “a bow or a crossbow”.
5Section 9 of the Regulation is amended
(a) by repealing subsection (5);
(b) by repealing subsection (6).
6The heading “HUNTING WITH A BOW” preceding section 23 of the Regulation is amended by striking out “BOW” and substituting “BOW OR A CROSSBOW”.
7Section 23 of the Regulation is repealed.
8Section 23.1 of the Regulation is repealed and the following is substituted:
23.1No person shall hunt in the Province by means of a bow or a crossbow unless that person is in possession of a valid hunting licence.
9This Regulation comes into force on September 1, 2011.
