26In addition to imposing sentence under the Provincial Offences Procedures Act in relation to a conviction of an offence under this Act, a judge
(a)
may make an order prohibiting the defendant from owning or having any animal in his or her possession or care and control for such period as the judge prescribes,
(b)
shall, in the case of a second or subsequent offence, make an order prohibiting the defendant from owning or having any animal in his or her possession or care and control
(i)
for the lifetime of the defendant, or
(ii)
for such period as the judge prescribes, or
(c)
may make an order vesting in the society
(i)
the ownership of all animals owned by the defendant, or
(ii)
the ownership of the animal in respect of which the prosecution has been commenced.
