Report by certain professionals

27(1)A medical practitioner, nurse practitioner, midwife or nurse shall report to a medical officer of health or a person designated by the Minister if, while providing professional services to a person who is not a patient in or an out-patient of a hospital facility or a resident of an institution, he or she has reasonable grounds to believe that the person
(a) has or may have a notifiable disease or is or may be infected with an agent of a notifiable disease,
(b) has or may be affected by an injury or risk factor prescribed by regulation, or
(c) has suffered a notifiable event prescribed by regulation.
27(2)A report under subsection (1) shall be made in accordance with the regulations.

Reporting of notifiable diseases and other information
27Where a medical practitioner, nurse practitioner, midwife or nurse, while providing professional services to a person who is not a patient in or an out-patient of a hospital facility or a resident of an institution, has reasonable and probable grounds to believe that the person
(a) has or may have a notifiable disease or is or may be infected with an agent of a communicable disease,
(b) has or may be affected by an injury or risk factor prescribed by regulation, or
(c) has suffered a reportable event prescribed by regulation,
the medical practitioner, nurse practitioner, midwife or nurse shall report, in accordance with the regulations, to a medical officer of health or a person designated by the Minister.

Reporting of notifiable diseases and other information
27Where a medical practitioner, nurse practitioner or nurse, while providing professional services to a person who is not a patient in or an out-patient of a hospital facility or a resident of an institution, has reasonable and probable grounds to believe that the person
(a) has or may have a notifiable disease or is or may be infected with an agent of a communicable disease,
(b) has or may be affected by an injury or risk factor prescribed by regulation, or
(c) has suffered a reportable event prescribed by regulation,
the medical practitioner, nurse practitioner or nurse shall report, in accordance with the regulations, to a medical officer of health or a person designated by the Minister.
