15.1(1)A judge appointed after the age of fifty-five years may, for the purposes of receiving a pension under this Act, purchase any period of active military service with the armed forces or merchant marine of Canada or her allies during World War II or the Korean Campaign, in accordance with the regulations under the Public Service Superannuation Act where not inconsistent with this section.

15.1(2)A judge appointed prior to the coming into force of this section shall elect to purchase active military service within two years of the coming into force of this section, and a judge appointed after the coming into force of this section shall elect to purchase active military service within one year of being appointed judge.
