Minister of Transportation and Infrastructure
141Subject to subsection 140.1(2), the Minister of Transportation and Infrastructure may, after conducting a technical evaluation that is based on Transportation Association of Canada guidelines and approved by a professional engineer, prescribe a higher or lower maximum speed limit than the maximum speed limit prescribed in section 140 for
(a) any highway or part of a highway, or
(b) any class or classes of motor vehicles,
and the maximum speed limit may be different for any period or periods of the day or night.
