Imprisonment and other orders on default
126(1)Where the court is satisfied that all other practicable means that are available under this Part for enforcing payment have been considered, the court may
(a) order imprisonment for a term of not more than ninety days to be served intermittently or as ordered by the court until the default is remedied, or
(b) impose a fine of not more than five hundred dollars.
126(2)The order for imprisonment under subsection (1) may be made conditional upon default in the performance of a condition set out in the order.
126(3)Where the person against whom a support order has been made fails or refuses to pay the fine within the time set by the court for payment, the court may enforce it by like proceedings as are applicable under the Provincial Offences Procedure Act in the case of the failure or refusal to pay a fine.
