Evidence for or against spouse
4On the trial of an issue or of a matter or question, or on an inquiry arising in any action, matter or other proceeding in any court, a spouse is competent to give evidence for or against his or her spouse.

Competency and compellability respecting husband and wife
4On the trial of an issue or of a matter or question, or on an inquiry arising in any action, matter or other proceeding in The Court of Divorce and Matrimonial Causes, or in any other court, a husband is competent to give evidence for or against his wife, and a wife is competent to give evidence for or against her husband.
