Creation of provisional District Education Councils

36.8Where a new school district is created under subsection 43(1), the Minister may provide for
(a)
the composition of the District Education Council in accordance with subsection 36.2(1),
(b)
the holding of elections,
(c)
the fixing of days for nominations either before or after the effective date of the operation of the District Education Council,
(d)
the appointment, with the approval of the Lieutenant-Governor in Council, of an interim District Education Council until the next regularly scheduled District Education Council election,
(e)
the fixing of days for first meetings of the District Education Council, and
(f)
such other matters as the Lieutenant-Governor in Council considers necessary to provide for the effective administration of the new District Education Council.
