Death of prisoner, death in hospital facility
6(1)Where a person dies while a prisoner in a penitentiary, jail, correctional institution, place of secure custody or place of temporary detention, the person in charge of the penitentiary, jail, correctional institution, place of secure custody or place of temporary detention shall immediately give notice of the death to the Chief Coroner.
6(2)Where a person dies while in custody pursuant to the
Family Services Act,
Intoxicated Persons Detention Act,
Mental Health Act or while under arrest for an offence or an alleged offence against any statute of Canada or New Brunswick, the person having actual custody of such person shall immediately give notice of the death to the Chief Coroner.
