13(1)The Lieutenant-Governor in Council shall establish by regulation a statement of public interest in order to protect the public interest in the use and development of land.
13(2)A regulation under this section shall
(a)
identify the public interest and public priorities to guide planning decisions in the Province, and
(b)
establish policies and, if applicable, minimum standards to align planning policies and guide development of economically, environmentally, socially and culturally sustainable communities.
13(3)Before establishing or amending a statement of public interest, the Minister may consult with any person the Minister considers appropriate.
