Under section 190.072 of the Municipalities Act, the Lieutenant-Governor in Council, on the recommendation of the Minister, makes the following Regulation:

1This Regulation may be cited as the Rural Community of Beaubassin East Regulation - Municipalities Act.

2The area comprising the local service district of Boudreau West, the local service district of Grand Barachois, the local service district of Haute-Aboujagane, the local service district of Saint-André & LeBlanc Office, a portion of the parish of Botsford, a portion of the parish of Sackville and a portion of the parish of Shediac is established as a rural community and the name of the rural community is Beaubassin East.

3The boundaries of Beaubassin East are as follows:

Beginning at the point where the eastern right-of-way of Comeau Shore Road meets the northern banks or shores of Comeau Point in Shemogue Harbour, the said point being also the northern corner of the lot with NB PID #70427711; thence in a southeasterly direction along the various courses of the said banks or shores, the eastern banks or shores of Comeau Point and the western banks or shores of Fox Creek to a point on the northern right-of-way of Route 955 at the confluence of Niles Brook, the said point being also the southeastern corner of the lot with NB PID #70026927; thence in a southerly and southwesterly direction along the various courses of the western banks or shores of the said brook, crossing Route 955 and Route 15, to a point on the eastern banks or shores of Niles Lake, the said point being also a point on the northwestern boundary of the lot with NB PID #00830885; thence in a southerly direction along the southeastern banks or shores of the said lake to the most southern point on the said lake, the said point being also a point on the northeastern boundary of the lot with NB PID #00839563; 4The effective date of the establishment of Beaubassin East is May 8, 1995.

5For the purpose of the first election

(a) enumeration shall begin on March 27, 1995;

(b) the notice of election shall be published no later than March 29, 1995;

(c) the nomination of candidates shall close at noon on April 13, 1995;

(d) the election shall be held on May 8, 1995; and

(e) the first meeting of the first rural community committee shall be held on May 23, 1995.

6(1)The rural community council shall be composed of nine members, including the rural community mayor.

6(2)The rural community councillors shall be elected by ward.

6(2.1)The rural community mayor shall be elected at large.

6(3)There shall be six wards within the boundaries described in section 3, consisting of the following:

(a) Ward 1, described as follows:

Beginning at the point where the eastern right-of-way of Comeau Shore Road meets the northern banks or shores of Comeau Point in Shemogue Harbour, the said point being also the northern corner of the lot with NB PID #70427711;
