Under section 45 of the Official Languages Act, the Lieutenant-Governor in Council makes the following regulation:
Citation
1This Regulation may be cited as the Services and Communications Regulation - Official Languages Act.
Definitions
2In this Regulation
“Act” means the Official Languages Act. (Loi)
Municipalities
3(1)The services and communications set out in Column I of Schedule A are prescribed for the purposes of section 36 of the Act.
3(2)If a municipality to which section 36 of the Act applies offers a service or communication set out in Column I of Schedule A, it shall do so in both official languages on or before the date set out opposite the service or communication in Col­umn II of Schedule A.
Planning Commissions and Solid Waste Commissions
4(1)The services and communications set out in Column I of Schedule B are prescribed for the purposes of section 41 of the Act.
4(2)If a Planning Commission or Solid Waste Commission to which section 41 of the Act applies offers a service or com­munication set out in Column I of Schedule B, it shall do so in both official languages on or before the date set out opposite the service or communication in Column II of Schedule B.
Commencement
5This Regulation comes into force on August 5, 2002.
