International Interests in Mobile Equipment Act
Assented to May 21, 2014
Her Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of New Brunswick, enacts as follows:
Definitions
1The following definitions apply in this Act.
“aircraft objects” means aircraft objects as defined in the Aircraft Protocol.(biens aéronautiques)
“Aircraft Protocol” means the Protocol to the Convention on International Interests in Mobile Equipment on Matters Specific to Aircraft Equipment set out in Schedule B. (Protocole aéronautique)
“Convention” means the Convention on International Interests in Mobile Equipment set out in Schedule A. (Convention)
This Act binds the Crown
2This Act binds the Crown.
Conflict
3In the event of a conflict between this Act and any other Act, this Act prevails.
Request for declaration
4With the approval of the Lieutenant-Governor in Council, the Attorney General may request the Government of Canada
(a) to declare, in accordance with Article 52 of the Convention and Article XXIX of the Aircraft Protocol, that the Convention and the Aircraft Protocol extend to New Brunswick, and
(b) to make, in respect of New Brunswick, any other declaration or subsequent declaration provided for by the Convention or the Aircraft Protocol.
Force of law
5From the day determined under Article 57 of the Convention and Article XXXIII of the Aircraft Protocol, the Convention and the Aircraft Protocol have the force of law in New Brunswick with respect to aircraft objects, in accordance with the declarations made under section 4.

Regulations
6The Lieutenant-Governor in Council may make regulations respecting any matter that the Lieutenant-Governor in Council considers necessary or advisable for the purposes of this Act.
