Under section 15 of the Act Respecting Local Governance Reform, chapter 44 of the Acts of New Brunswick, 2021, the Lieutenant-Governor in Council makes the following Regulation:
Citation
1This Regulation may be cited as the Rural Districts Establishment Regulation – Local Governance Act.
Northwest
2(1)The Northwest rural district is established, and the territorial limits of the rural district are shown on the plan in Schedule 2.
2(2)The rural district is divided into two wards, which are shown on the plan in Schedule 2.
2(3)The rural district advisory committee shall consist of the following members:
(a) one member elected from each ward referred to in subsection (2); and
(b) one member elected at large.
Restigouche
3(1)The Restigouche rural district is established, and the territorial limits of the rural district are shown on the plan in Schedule 3.
3(2)The rural district is divided into two wards, which are shown on the plan in Schedule 3.
3(3)The rural district advisory committee shall consist of the following members:
(a) one member elected from each ward referred to in subsection (2); and
(b) one member elected at large.
Chaleur
4(1)The Chaleur rural district is established, and the territorial limits of the rural district are shown on the plan in Schedule 4.
4(2)The rural district is divided into three wards, which are shown on the plan in Schedule 4.
4(3)The rural district advisory committee shall consist of one member elected from each ward referred to in subsection (2).
Acadian Peninsula
5(1)The Acadian Peninsula rural district is established, and the territorial limits of the rural district are shown on the plan in Schedule 5.
5(2)The rural district advisory committee shall consist of three members elected at large.
Greater Miramichi
6(1)The Greater Miramichi rural district is established, and the territorial limits of the rural district are shown on the plan in Schedule 6.
6(2)The rural district is divided into two wards, which are shown on the plan in Schedule 6.
6(3)The rural district advisory committee shall consist of the following members:
(a) one member elected from each ward referred to in subsection (2); and
(b) one member elected at large.
Kent
7(1)The Kent rural district is established, and the territorial limits of the rural district are shown on the plan in Schedule 7.
7(2)The rural district is divided into two wards, which are shown on the plan in Schedule 7.
7(3)The rural district advisory committee shall consist of the following members:
(a) two members elected from ward 1; and
(b) one member elected from ward 2.
Southeast
8(1)The Southeast rural district is established, and the territorial limits of the rural district are shown on the plan in Schedule 8.
8(2)The rural district advisory committee shall consist of three members elected at large.
Kings
9(1)The Kings rural district is established, and the territorial limits of the rural district are shown on the plan in Schedule 9.
9(2)The rural district is divided into two wards, which are shown on the plan in Schedule 9.
9(3)The rural district advisory committee shall consist of the following members:
(a) one member elected from each ward referred to in subsection (2); and
(b) one member elected at large.
Fundy
10(1)The Fundy rural district is established, and the territorial limits of the rural district are shown on the plan in Schedule 10.
10(2)The rural district is divided into three wards, which are shown on the plan in Schedule 10.
10(3)The rural district advisory committee shall consist of the following members:
(a) one member elected from each of wards 1 and 3; and
(b) two members elected from ward 2.
Southwest
11(1)The Southwest rural district is established, and the territorial limits of the rural district are shown on the plan in Schedule 11.
11(2)The rural district is divided into three wards, which are shown on the plan in Schedule 11.
11(3)The rural district advisory committee shall consist of one member elected from each ward referred to in subsection (2).
Capital Region
12(1)The Capital Region rural district is established, and the territorial limits of the rural district are shown on the plan in Schedule 12.
12(2)The rural district is divided into two wards, which are shown on the plan in Schedule 12.
12(3)The rural district advisory committee shall consist of the following members:
(a) two members elected from ward 1; and
(b) four members elected from ward 2.
Western Valley
13(1)The Western Valley rural district is established, and the territorial limits of the rural district are shown on the plan in Schedule 13.
13(2)The rural district is divided into two wards, which are shown on the plan in Schedule 13.
13(3)The rural district advisory committee shall consist of the following members:
(a) one member elected from ward 1; and
(b) two members elected from ward 2.
