Under subsection 73(3) of the Judicature Act, the Lieutenant-Governor in Council makes the following Regulation:
Citation
1This Regulation may be cited as the Interest Regulation - Judicature Act.
Definition of “Act”
2In this Regulation, “Act” means the Judicature Act.
Interest
3(1)Interest referred to in subsection 48(3) of the Act shall
(a) be credited quarterly,
(b) be paid at the rate paid on 91-day treasury bills issued by the Government of Canada at the treasury bill auction immediately preceding the beginning of the quarter, and
(c) notwithstanding paragraph (a), accrue to and be paid out on the date the money is paid out.
3(2)Subsection (1) applies to money on deposit with the Minister of Finance and Treasury Board on the commencement of this Regulation and to money deposited with the Minister of Finance and Treasury Board after the commencement of this Regulation.

Commencement
4This Regulation comes into force on May 1, 2007.
