Under section 114.1 of the Fish and Wildlife Act, the Lieutenant-Governor in Council makes the following Regulation:
Citation
1This Regulation may be cited as the Forensic Analysis Regulation - Fish and Wildlife Act.
Definitions
2The following definitions apply in this Regulation.
“Act” means the Fish and Wildlife Act. (Loi)
“qualified technician” means a qualified technician appointed by the Minister under section 114.1 of the Act. (technicien qualifié)
Things prescribed
3Tools or other implements are things prescribed for the purposes of paragraph 114.1(1)(e) of the Act.
Procedure to be used
4(1)The procedure to be used by a qualified technician in the analysis or examination of a portion of meat, tissue or body fluid of any species of wildlife or fish shall be one or more of the following:
(a) Mitochondrial DNA Sequencing;
(b) DNA Genotyping; or
(c) Gender Typing of Mammals using Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR).
4(2)The procedure to be used by a qualified technician in the examination or analysis of a firearm, ammunition or tool or other implement shall be the Comparison Microscopic Analysis.

Repeal
5New Brunswick Regulation 84-1 under the Fish and Wildlife Act is repealed.
